Power of Women Power in PM Modi’s new cabinet,11 women ministers get seats- Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet was expanded on Wednesday and seven women leaders took oath as ministers. Now there will be a big presence of women power in the Modi government and the total number of women in the council of ministers has now increased to 11.

These 7 women ministers joined the Modi cabinet

During the cabinet expansion, President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of ministers of state to BJP’s Meenakshi Lekhi, Shobha Karandlje, Darshana Jardosh, Annapurna Devi, Pratima Bhowmik, Bharti Pawar and Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel. In these, except Anupriya, all six leaders have become Union Ministers for the first time.

Apart from these seven women ministers, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani, Minister of State Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Renuka Singh Saruta are already included in the Council of Ministers. On Wednesday, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Debashree Choudhary resigned. She was also among the ministers who resigned before the expansion of the Council of Ministers.
