Adar Poonawalla’s SII to invest Rs 2500 crore in UK, will also make vaccine- Vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India may soon invest around Rs 2500 crore in the UK. Britain’s PM Boris Johnson said on Monday that the Serum Institute could also make a vaccine in the UK in the future. Let me tell you that this announcement has been made before the virtual meeting of PM Modi and his British counterpart Boris Johnson on Tuesday.

PM Johnson’s office Downing Street reported that the £ 240 million (Rs 2460 crore) project could include clinical trials, research and possibly vaccine manufacturing.

Serum Institute is the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer by volume. In addition, it is also at the forefront of companies making low-cost AstraZeneca vaccines.

SII has also begun a first-stage trial of a single dose of coronavirus in the UK, a nasal vaccine. According to a Downing Street statement, the SII plan is part of a billion-dollar trade deal with India and will provide about 6,500 jobs.

Serum Institute produces 6 to 7 crore doses of the Corona Vaccine every month. Currently, the company aims to increase it to 100 million by July.

Explain that due to the second wave of Corona in India, PM Johnson had to cancel his tour of India. He was scheduled to visit India in April.

The company said in an official statement, ‘It is expected that through the sales office it will be able to reach its billion-dollar business, which will be invested in the UK.
