JEE Mains exam fraud: CBI raids 19 locations including Delhi- Pune- The CBI on Thursday conducted raids at 19 places across the country in connection with alleged irregularities in JEE (Mains) exam 2021. Earlier, the CBI had registered a case against Affinity Education Pvt Ltd and its directors in this case. After registering the case, CBI has conducted raids in different parts of the country.

The agency has registered a case against Affinity Education Pvt Ltd and its directors Siddharth Krishna, Vishambhar Mani Tripathi, and Govind Varshney. They are alleged to have been rigging the online examination of JEE in connivance with their touts and associates and staff posted at the examination center and other unidentified persons.

CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said that the accused persons were manipulating the online examination of JEE (Mains). These people used to solve the question papers of the applicants through remote access from a chosen examination center in Sonepat, Haryana by charging hefty amounts from the aspiring students taking admission in top colleges of NIT.

RC Joshi had also alleged that the accused used to take 10th and 12th class mark sheets, user IDs, passwords and post-date checks as security from the aspiring students, and once the admission was done, every candidate across the country used to collect a huge amount ranging from Rs 12 to 15 lakhs from them.

The agency’s teams raided 19 locations including Delhi and NCR, Pune, Jamshedpur, Indore and Bangalore, carrying 25 laptops, 7 computers, around 30 post-dated checks as well as PDC mark sheets of different students in huge quantities. Incriminating documents and equipment were recovered. Without naming anyone, Joshi said several people were questioned on Thursday in the matter.
