Lakhimpur Hinsa Updates: Three days police remand for Ashish Mishra

Lakhimpur Violence: Ashish Mishra’s lawyer did not go in CJM court- bail application rejected- Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur incident and son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, has suffered another setback. The CMJ Court rejected the bail application of Ashish Mishra. Ashish Mishra’s lawyer had filed a bail application on the ground that he was not present at the scene. After its rejection, the lawyers are now preparing to file a bail application in the district judge’s court.

Eight people, including four farmers, a local journalist, and a BJP worker, were killed in a violent clash at Tikunia in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. Ashish Mishra was made the main accused in this case. In the FIR, there was an allegation of crushing the farmers by describing Ashish Mishra as the driver of the Thar jeep. Ashish Mishra had said that he was not present there, calling it wrong.

After the FIR was registered, the SIT summoned Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra for questioning and arrested him late on Saturday night. The SIT also got a three-day remand from the CJM court to interrogate Ashish Mishra. On Wednesday, an application was filed on behalf of Ashish Mishra’s lawyer regarding his bail. Hearing this, the court rejected the bail application. After its rejection, the lawyers are now preparing to file a bail application in the district judge’s court.
