Sukhpal Khaira is an opportunist -should resign as MLA
Just before the Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has suffered another setback in Punjab. Sukhpal Singh Khaira, who is suspended from the party, has resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party. Before Khaira, HS Phoolka too has said goodbye to the party. Khaira has resigned from the primary membership of the party. Sukhpal Khaira had come to the discussion after revolting against the Aam Aadmi Party’s top leadership and he was suspended from the party.
Khaira has sent his resignation to the party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Explaining the reason behind leaving the party in the resignation, Khaira said, “The party has completely deviated from its ideals. The party has forgotten its principles which were formed after the Anna Hazare movement.
Following the resignation of Khaira and H.S. Phoolka, the number of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs has remained at 18 in the Punjab assembly. Explain that the entire controversy started after the results obtained in contrast to the party’s claims in the Punjab assembly elections. The party was claiming that it was getting 100 seats in Punjab while it got reduced to only 20 seats.
Sukhpal Khaira is an opportunist -should resign as MLA, AAP said. Other rebel leaders, including Khaira, said that even after such a shameful defeat no accountability of responsible leaders was decided. It is being told that Khaira can now form its new party, which is possible before the Lok Sabha elections.
However, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) gave a slogan to cheating voters by not resigning as a legislator. Party General Secretary and spokesman Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema said that Khaira was a habitual criminal.
AAP is not the first party which Khaira has devastated. He has a habit of doing it again and again. The question is why did he leave the AAP but did not resign from the legislature? She is cheating voters. If he wants to leave the party then he should resign as a legislator and face elections.
With Sukhpal Khaira, Kanwar Sandhu was suspended from the AAP for engaging in “anti-party” activities in November last year. In July 2018, after the criticism of Arvind Kejriwal for apologizing to the Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, he was removed as leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly.
Since his removal as LOP, Khaira has been an outspoken critic of the AAP leadership.
