Delhi: Kejriwal extended lockdown again for 7 days, Metro service will also be closed- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced to increase the lockdown in Delhi by holding a press conference. Delhi will now have a lockdown till 5 am next Monday.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the lockdown in Delhi is being extended for a week. The lockdown will remain in force until 5 am next Monday. The Metro will be closed from tomorrow in Delhi. Kejriwal said that corona cases started decreasing in Delhi on April 26 and the positivity rate has come down from 35% to 23% in the last one or two days.

CM Kejriwal has extended the lockdown for the third consecutive time. In the meantime, no one will be allowed to exit, except those connected with essential services. The lockdown will remain in force till 5 am on May 17. Officials say that in the meantime the government will review the cases of infection. The lockdown can be extended even further if the situation does not improve. Giving information about increasing the lockdown, the Chief Minister said that the lockdown in Delhi is being extended for a week.

In fact, after the Corona cases escalated, the Delhi government was the first to impose a 6-day lockdown from the night of April 19. It was further extended for a week on April 25, when the situation did not change. The second week’s lockdown was scheduled to end at 5 am on May 3, while the government extended it for a week on May 1. Then this week’s lockdown was to end on May 10, and the government extended it on May 9. Now the restrictions will remain in force till 10 am on May 17.

17,364 people confirmed infection in Delhi, 332 deaths

Things seem to be getting better with the transition to the capital. On Saturday, 17,364 cases of the corona were reported and 332 people died. There are less than 18 thousand cases in Delhi after 22 days. There has been a steady decline in the number of daily infected for the last 5 days.

According to the Health Department, the total number of infected people in Delhi now stands at 13,10,231. Of these, 12,03, 253 people have become healthy. However, a total of 19,071 people have died. Even though the cases of infection are declining, the cases of daily death are not decreasing yet. With this, the death rate from Corona in Delhi has increased to 1.46%.

According to the department, there are 87,907 active patients at present. Of these, 19,838 patients are admitted to hospitals. There are 840 recruits in Covid Care Centers. The number of patients admitted to home isolation has increased to 49,865. On Saturday, 74,384 tests were done to test the corona, in which 23.34 percent of the patients were found to be corona infected. Of these, 62,921 were tested from RTPCR and 11,463 from rapid antigens. So far, 1 crore 77 lakh 51 thousand people have been screened in Delhi. The number of red zones has increased to 51,338 with increasing cases.
