Delta Plus variant has reached 7 districts of Maharashtra

According to the report, earlier, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope had told that the Delta Plus variant has knocked in seven districts of the state and many cases have been reported. Along with this, he had also said that the officials are isolating such cases and doing contact tracing by extracting the details of the travel history of the infected.

No one died due to Delta variant

Rajesh Tope said that the state government has decided to send samples for genome sequence study. He further said, ‘So far no patient infected with the Delta Plus variant has died. The symptoms and treatment of this type are similar. No child has been infected with the new variant. The Health Minister has directed the officials to closely monitor the cases of the Delta Plus variant, as there is a need to collect and study the information on these cases.

Orders to focus on these 7 districts

Along with this, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the officials to focus on the seven districts of the state, where the infection rate is high. CM Thackeray also stressed on the fact that there should be no rush to relax restrictions if there is a risk of spreading the virus. Talking to the collectors of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Hingoli districts, the Chief Minister said that in view of the possibility of third wave in all the districts, a plan should be made to set up oxygen beds, ICU beds, field hospitals.

60 lakh people have been infected in Maharashtra

Meanwhile, 9844 new cases of corona virus were registered in Maharashtra on Thursday, while 197 patients succumbed to the infection. The Health Department said in a statement that so far a total of 60 lakh 7 thousand 431 people have been infected with this epidemic in the state. At the same time, 773 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Mumbai on Thursday and 10 deaths occurred.
