Antivirus software founder’s body found in Spain jail, suspected of suicide- The body of John McAfee, founder of antivirus software company McAfee, was found in a Spanish prison on Wednesday. According to the prison official, his body was found in his barracks shortly after the court approved extradition of McAfee to the US. McAfee is accused of tax evasion in the US.

A prison spokeswoman said 75-year-old McAfee may have died of suicide. However, the spokesperson did not provide any other information. McAfee was arrested at Barcelona airport in October 2020. He was about to take a flight to Istanbul at that time and since then he was in jail in Spain.

McAfee is accused of knowingly not filing tax returns between 2014 and 2018 despite earning Rs. If McAfee had been convicted, he would have spent at least 30 years in prison. On Wednesday, a Spanish court approved the extradition of McAfee to the US. However, this decision could still be challenged and extradition had to be approved by the Spanish cabinet.
