Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos launched in new avatar, price starts at Rs 6.79 lakh- Kia India has launched an updated avatar of its Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos vehicles. The company’s sub-compact SUV Kia Sonnet price now starts at Rs 6.79 lakh, while the compact SUV Kia Celtos starting price is now Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Both the vehicles come with the new brand logo of Kia. Several new features have been added to the updated versions of sonnets and celtos, including paddle shifters for automatic variants. Apart from this, the company has also added iMT technology to the new Seltos.

What is the new price?

The new sonnet will now be available in a total of 17 variants and Celtos will now be available in a total of 16 variants. Bookings have been accepted at both the company’s dealerships for both new trains. In terms of price, the base model of the sonnet (1.2-Liter Petrol HTE 5MT) is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh and the top model (1.5-liter diesel GTX + AT) is priced at Rs 13.25 lakh. Similarly, the base model (1.5-liter Petrol HTE 6MT) of Celtos has priced at Rs 9.95 lakh and the top model (1.5-liter CRDi Diesel GTX + 6AT) is priced at Rs 17.65 lakh.

Keeping in mind the current demand from customers, the company has introduced another premium variant of 2021 Celtos – 1.4T-GDI Petrol GTX (O). Similarly, Sonnet’s most popular HTX trim will now be available with an automatic option – HTX 7DCT (1.0-liter T-GDI petrol) and HTX 6AT (1.5-liter diesel).

New features of 2021 Seltos SUV

In 2021 Kia Celtos, the company has given 17 new features including a first-in-segment smart pure air purifier with ‘virus and bacteria’ protection, remote engine start in manual transmission, wireless phone projection on the car’s touchscreen, over the air (OTA) Map update, additional voice command is included on the Uvo connected car system. The iMT variants of the car have a sunroof, beige and black interior and a fully automatic air conditioner. For safety, the company has also decided to offer Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC) features in the lower variants.

New features of 2021 Sonet SUV

The Kia Sonnet 2021 has been updated with 10 new features including first-in-segment rear door sunshade curtons, first-in-segment voice command for sunroof open and close. Kia has introduced features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), Hill Assist Control (HAC) to the lower variants of the sub-compact SUV. Lower variants also get an electric sunroof, smart key with push-button start, remote engine start, crystal cut alloy with the chrome door handle and silver wheel cap and more.

Sonnet gets a new engine option

There is no change in the engine of the Kia Celtos. It has the same 1.5-litre SmartStream petrol as before, 1.4-liter SmartStream T-GDI petrol and 1.5-liter CRDi VGT diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, an intelligent variable transmission (iVT), a 6-speed torque converter, a 7-speed DCT automatic and a 6-speed iMT (intelligent manual transmission). On the other hand, the sonnet will also come in a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. Apart from this, 1.0-liter turbo T-GDi petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines have been given. Transmission options for the sonnet include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed torque converter and 7-speed DCT automatic.
