Another action of Twitter: After Rahul Gandhi, now Congress’s account is locked- After Rahul Gandhi and many other Congress leaders, Twitter has now locked the official Twitter account of Congress. The Congress on Thursday alleged that Twitter has locked the party’s official handle @INCIndia. The party has given this information through its Facebook page, as well as said that the party and its leaders are not afraid of them. It is believed that Twitter has taken this action for violating the rules. The social media company has earlier taken similar action against many Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress took a screenshot of its locked Twitter account and shared it on its Facebook page and wrote- ‘When our leaders were put in jails, we are not afraid than what will we be afraid of closing the Twitter account now. We are Congress, this is the message of the people, we will fight, we will keep fighting. If it is a crime to raise our voice for justice to the rape victim girl, then we will do this crime a hundred times. Jai Hind…Satyamev Jayate.’

Earlier on Wednesday night, Congress had claimed that similar action has been taken against the accounts of five senior leaders including Randeep Surjewala. The party had said that the Twitter accounts of All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and former Union minister Ajay Maken, party whip in Lok Sabha Manickam Tagore, Assam in-charge and former Union minister Jitendra Singh and Mahila Congress President Sushmita Dev were suspended. Huh.

It is worth noting that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had last week tweeted pictures of the family of a nine-year-old girl who was allegedly raped and murdered in Delhi. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) took cognizance of Rahul Gandhi’s tweet and directed Twitter to take action against the Congress leader’s account for violating the privacy of the minor victim.

Let us tell you that earlier on Wednesday, Twitter had told the Delhi High Court that Rahul Gandhi’s tweet on August 4 violated the company’s policies. He had tweeted his picture with the parents of the rape victim. Because of this his account was temporarily closed.
