PM Modi launched Gati Shakti Yojana- know what is this and what will be the benefit- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti National Master Plan, a digital platform linking 16 ministries, for multi-layered connectivity with economic sectors. During this, PM Modi said that today the 21st century India is moving ahead leaving behind that old thinking of government systems.

What is Gati Shakti National Master Plan?

Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti National Master Plan is a digital platform connecting 16 ministries including rail and road. This includes ministries like Railways, Road Transport, Ships, IT, Textiles, Petroleum, Energy, Aviation. The ongoing projects of these ministries or the plans to be completed by the year 2024-25 will be put under Gati Shakti Yojana. The Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) under the Ministry of Information Technology (MEITY) has developed the platform for monitoring Gati Shakti Yojana.

Auspicious work being done on Durgashtami: PM Modi

While addressing the program, PM Narendra Modi said, ‘Today is Durgashtami, today Shakti Swarupa is being worshiped all over the country. On this auspicious occasion of worshiping Shakti, auspicious work is being done to give strength to the pace of progress of the country. The National Master Plan will give impetus to 21st century India with multimodal connectivity and next-generation infrastructure. He said, ‘Today 4 exhibition halls have also been inaugurated at the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre. These exhibition centers will provide a platform for our MSMEs and industries to showcase their products to the world.

‘India is moving ahead leaving the old government systems’

PM Modi said, ‘Today, the India of the 21st century, leaving behind that old thinking of government systems, is moving forward. Today’s mantra is ‘desire for progress, work for progress, money for progress, plan for progress, priority for progress’. “In our country, the subject of infrastructure has been far from the priority of most political parties. This is not even visible in his manifesto. Now the situation has come that some political parties take pride in criticizing the creation of necessary infrastructure for the country. Whereas it is accepted in the world that the creation of quality infrastructure for sustainable development is one such way, which gives rise to many economic activities, creates employment on a very large scale.

‘Planning brings together government processes and stakeholders’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘PM Gatishakti Master Plan brings together government processes and other stakeholders and also connects transport modes. It is an extension of overall governance. PM Gatishakti National Master Plan will also provide an analytical and decision-making tool to the investors, to all the stakeholders involved in the policy-making of the country. This will help the government’s ineffective planning and policymaking.

Rapid growth in the last seven years

PM Modi said, ‘In the 5 years before 2014, only 3000 km of railways were electrified. In the last 7 years, we have electrified more than 24 thousand kilometers of railway tracks. Before 2014, the metro was running on only about 250 km of track. Today the metro has been expanded to 700 km and work is going on on 1000 km new metro route. He said, “In the first 5 years of 2014, only 60 panchayats could be connected with optical fiber. In the last 7 years, we have connected more than 1.5 lakh gram panchayats with optical fiber.
