Petrol Price In India – New Delhi: Continuous hike in diesel prices continued for the eighth day on Thursday. After a day’s relief, the prices of petrol have also gone up again. However, the international market has softened after two consecutive days of a rise in crude oil prices. Oil marketing companies have increased the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai by 14 paise per litre. Diesel is priced at 19 paise in Delhi and Kolkata and 20 paise per litre in Mumbai and Chennai. According to IndianOil website, the prices of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have gone up to Rs 70.47, Rs 72.58, Rs 76.11 and Rs 73.15 per litre, respectively.

In four metros, diesel prices have risen to Rs 64.78, Rs 66.55, Rs 67.82 and Rs 68.42 per litre, respectively. After two consecutive trading days in the international market, the trend of softening of crude oil remained. March delivery on the Intercontinental exchange was trading at $ 61 a barrel with 0.52 per cent weakness in the forward contract of Brent crude. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, the February delivery deal of American Light Crude West Texas Intermediate was trading 0.65 per cent lower at $ 51.97 a barrel.
