Narada case: Mamta angry with action on TMC leaders, CBI office reached, said- Arrest me too- As soon as Mamata Banerjee’s government is formed in West Bengal, action has been initiated against her minister in the Narada case. Today, CBI officials arrived at the residence of Firhad Hakim and searched the house. Firhad then brought Hakim to the CBI office for questioning.
After the CBI’s action on their leaders, now Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has reached the CBI office. Expressing displeasure over this action, Mamta Banerjee asked the CBI officials to arrest me as well.
The CBI has taken Firhad Hakim, an accused in the Narada Sting case, with him for questioning. Apart from this, the house of Minister Subrata Mukherjee and MLA Madan Mitra was also raided in the Bengal government and he was summoned by the CBI office for questioning. Apart from this, action has also been taken on former Mayor Sovan Chatterjee.
Please tell that the Governor of West Bengal Jagdish Dhankhar had approved the CBI officials for investigation against Firhad Hakim. In this case, a sting operation was done on behalf of Narada, in which several TMC leaders were caught taking bribe on camera.
CBI denied arrest
CBI sources said that all four have been brought to the office for questioning in the Narada Sting case. They will be questioned in relation to this matter. However, the CBI denied the arrest and said that none of these four have been arrested.
What is Narada scam?
In 2016, Narada sting tapes were made public before the assembly elections in Bengal. It was claimed that these tapes were recorded in the year 2014. It featured individuals who looked like TMC ministers, MPs and MLAs, allegedly taking cash from representatives of a fictitious company. This sting operation was carried out by Matthew Samuel of the Narda News Portal. In 2017, the Calcutta High Court ordered the CBI to investigate these tapes.
