Indian Railways Guidelines for Corona- In order to control the number of people coming to the railway station, the Northeast Railway has banned the sale of platform tickets at all the stations of Varanasi division till further orders. This information was given by Public Relations Officer of Northeast Railway Ashok Kumar.

Ashok Kumar said that the boundaries of the major stations of Varanasi division have been sealed and only passengers with ‘confirmed tickets’ are being given entry from the single entry gate in the stations. Thermal scanning of every passenger entering and exiting the stations is being done. Long queues were found at the railway station

Passengers were seen in long queues at the New Delhi railway station on Wednesday, a day after the night curfew was imposed in Delhi. However, the officials said that due to the wedding and harvesting season, this kind of congestion usually happens at this time of the year.

The Delhi government had decided to impose curfew in the national capital from 10 am to 5 am in the national capital by 30 April in view of the increasing cases of Kovid-19. Indian Railway spokesperson DJ Narayan said that (the number of passengers) has not increased… only passengers with reserved tickets are coming. We get to see such a crowd at intervals of some time. Please do not publish any speculative news in this challenging environment. One false news can cause chaos.

Publication of Kovid-19 security rules is being announced publicly at the railway station and the police has stepped up the campaign against those who violate the rules. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) Harendra K. Singh said that police are taking extra precautions at railway stations. He is declaring to be alert and strictly abide by the rules to avoid Covid-19.

He said, “Masks are being given to the needy and we have intensified the campaign against those who violate it.” Railway police said that congestion has nothing to do with the night curfew implemented in the city.
