Symptoms of corona seen in lions
Doctor Siddhanand Kukreti, who maintains the zoological park, has neither confirmed nor denied that these lions have been found positive. Doctor Kukreti said, “It is true that the lions have shown signs of corona but we are yet to get an RT-PCR report from CCMB of these lions.” We will be able to give information about this only after getting the report.
Last year, tigers were also found infected in Xu of New York.
Dr. Shirish Upadhyay, director of the Wildlife Research and Training Center in Hyderabad city, says that 8 tigers and lion coronas were found positive in a zoo in New York last year. Apart from this, there was no news about the corona contraction before the animals. However, coronavirus was found in dogs and cats in Hong Kong.
There are a total of 12 lions in this zoo.
According to the sources, on 24 April, veterinarians found that during their care, they found symptoms of corona like loss of appetite, watery nose and expectoration of phlegm. There are 12 lions in this zoo, whose age is about 10 years. The area of Xu’s Safari Area is about 40 acres. Four lions and the remaining lionesses have been found to be Kovid positive.
Ju will be closed for two days for common people
After this incident, Nehru Zoological Park has been closed for two days for the common people. This park is very densely populated. Because the coronavirus is airborne, it is believed that these lions have become infected due to coming in contact with the people living nearby. It is also being speculated that they have also got an infection from the caretakers of these lions. Recently 25 employees working at Xu have been infected with corona.
