Migrant workers start migrating

He fears that the one-week lockdown imposed by the Delhi government may increase further. The lockdown, which started on 20 April in Delhi, will continue till 26 April.

The High Court gave these instructions

Let us tell you that on April 19, the High Court had issued a directive to the Delhi Government, that it should provide the necessary things to the workers. They should not have trouble due to the lockdown. After this, it was decided to provide financial assistance to the labourers.

Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said that according to the order of the Kejriwal government, daily labourers and migrant labourers will be provided shelter, food, water and medical facilities in the capital.

Delhi government will set up a committee for labourers

According to the affidavit of the Delhi government, financial assistance of Rs. 5000 will be given to the registered construction workers. At the same time, a committee will be formed to identify and help the migrant labourers and then they will be helped.

The committee to be constituted for migrant labourers will have 7 members. Senior officers will be included in this. The committee will take care of everything from food and drink, medical facilities and shelter etc., along with the financial help of the workers.
