WhatsApp’s reply in Delhi High Court – If I get permission with my policy, I will work in India- Delhi High Court questioned WhatsApp that you allege that your privacy policy is different for Europe and different for India. The same question is being asked of you. Have you answered this question anywhere? Is this said anywhere in this petition? The court said that this is a bottleneck. Have you said anywhere that there is no difference between the two?

Senior Advocate Harish Salve said on behalf of WhatsApp, there is a generic answer to this. First, Parliament should be allowed to issue the Personal Protection Bill. If he allows me with my policy then I will work in India, else I will close my shop. But unless Parliament makes a law, why is pressure being given for it.

On Friday, WhatsApp said that the situation today is that we have left it to the users whether you approve our policy or not. In any case, they are not being stopped from using WhatsApp app in any case and they are doing.

WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app in the country and in the world and it has crores of users only in India. WhatsApp has filed a complaint against the government in the Delhi High Court against the new rules. In this complaint, WhatsApp has demanded from the government that the new regulations should not be implemented. Thus the Facebook unit will be forced to break the privacy policy.
