Toyota And Suzuki Collaborate To Strengthen Their Alliance: Toyota will use Maruti Suzuki’s low-cost manufacturing expertise to develop new MPV. There is a possibility of getting a hybrid and electric powertrain in the new Toyota MPV. The new C- Segment MPV will be supplied to Maruti Suzuki. It will be positioned above Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) and Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) have disclosed more information about their cooperation. According to the latest announcement, Toyota will develop a new C-Segment MPV which will be jointly developed with Suzuki. The said MPV will be located above Toyota-bagged Ertiga, and it will also be supplied to Maruti Suzuki. In addition to the new MPV, Maruti Suzuki will supply Ciaz and Ertiga to Toyota.

Toyota’s official statement said, “Considering the expertise of Suzuki in developing vehicles in India, joint development of Toyota Sea-Segment MPV and OEM supply to Suzuki.” The new Toyota MPV will be engineered to meet the company’s needs, while Maruti Suzuki. Toyota will provide its low-cost manufacturing and development expertise. Details about the new Toyota MPV are rare at the moment. However, we can expect that the new Toyota MPV will get hybrid and electric powertrain.

The Scope of the partnership between Toyota and Suzuki is also spread to Global  Markets. For example, Toyota will supply the electric versions of RAV4 and Corolla Wagon to Suzuki for European Markets. In addition, Suzuki will provide Toyota its newly developed petrol engine, which will be reproduced by Denso and Toyota and Toyota Motor manufacturing will be manufactured in Poland. In addition, made-in-India Toyota-badged Baleno, Ciaz, Vitara Brezza, and Ertiga will be sold in African Markets.  While the Toyota version of Baleno will be launched in India later this year, the company will start manufacturing Vitara Brezza in the factory of Toyota in Bidadi, Karnataka from 2022. Apart from India, Toyota will also supply the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) to Suzuki. For global markets. Under the agreement, Toyota will supply Corolla Altis to the next generation of Maruti Suzuki, which will help India’s largest car manufacturer enter the D-Segment.
