America's strong attack on 'Iranian propaganda', seized 36 major websites

America’s strong attack on ‘Iranian propaganda’, seized 36 major websites including Press TV- The United States has dealt a major blow to Iran’s newly elected President Ibrahim Raisi. The US Department of Justice and Commerce have seized more than three dozen Iranian websites carrying “propaganda”. These websites include the English website of Iran’s state media Press TV, the Al-Masirah satellite news channel of Yemen’s Houthi rebels, and Iran’s official Arabic-language TV channel Al-Alam.

An alert is coming from the US government when visiting these websites. This notice states that the action against the website is part of the law enforcement action. The US government has also seized the domain name of the Palestine TV news website. This website used to present the ideology of Hamas and Islamic Jihad operating in Gaza. Same notice is coming on this website also.

‘Was driving a global propaganda campaign’

Last year, the US Department of Justice announced that it had shut down nearly 100 websites of Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard. The US said that these websites describe themselves as original news websites but in reality they are running a ‘global propaganda campaign’. Their purpose is to influence America’s policies and spread Iranian propaganda around the world.

The US has taken this step just days after Iran’s President Ibrahim took office. Raisi has been known for his stand against the West. Raisi’s election is seen as a major setback in Iran’s return to the nuclear deal. The then US President Donald Trump withdrew from this agreement in the year 2017. After this, relations between Iran and America continued to deteriorate.
