The Pakistani government has no words so far. Earlier, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said that Masood Azhar was unwell and he was undergoing treatment.

When asked about media reports claiming Masood Azhar’s death, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary told PTI, “I do not know anything at this time.”

Since Sunday afternoon, there is speculation that the Indian media, especially on Twitter, hashtag #MasoodAzharDEAD, hovering over the top of Twitter Trends in the second half of the day.

Some media reports speculated on the death of Masood Azhar and said that the rumors were circulating that terrorists were killed during the air strikes in Balakot Terrorist camp on 26 February.

Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for the February 14 Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed when a suicide bomber threw his explosive-laden vehicle into a convoy.

India has since pressurized the Imran Khan government to take action against the terrorist organization and Masood Azhar.

However, Pakistan has denied the role of Azhar in the terrorist attack and said that Pakistani government officials spoke to him and denied any links to the attack.

Twelve days after the Pulwama attack, the Indian Air Force (IAF) made pre-military non-military air raids on one of the biggest Jaish camps in Balakot, Pakistan, and wiped out many terrorists taking training in the camp.
