290 Dead & 500 Injured In Serial Bomb Blasts In Sri Lanka: Five Indians died in the serial bomb blasts in Colombo, who had gone through three churches during the Easter services, four luxury hotels, where there were dozens of tourists and a housing complex. In the blasts, 290 people were killed and about 500 others were injured, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Sunday after talking to her Sri Lanka counterpart Tilak Marapana.

Ms. Swaraj said on the tweet, “The Indian High Commission in Colombo has conveyed that the National Hospital has informed him about the death of three Indian nationals, namely Lakshmi, Narayan Chandrasekhar, and Ramesh. Detecting Details”. This morning, the Indian High Commission in Colombo tweeted, “We confirm the sadness of the death of the following two persons in the recent blasts: – KG Hanumantharayappa-M Rangappa.”

PS Razeena, 58, from Kerala, who had gone to Dubai, also died in the blasts.

Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi tweeted, “I conveyed to the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister that India is ready to provide unanimous support. When necessary, we are ready to Despatch our medical teams too.”

The serial blasts conducted by suicide bombers began on Sunday morning. Targeted churches include St. Anthony’s Church in Colombo, St. Sebastian’s Church in the western coastal city of Negombo and the Zion Church in the eastern city Batticaloa.

290 Dead & 500 Injured In Serial Bomb Blasts- The three five star hotels were Shangri La and Cinnamon Grand and Kingsbury. Another hotel in Dehiwala Zoo, Dehiwala Mountain Lavinia was also attacked.

When a police team entered a house in Colombo north suburb of Orugodawatta to search, a suicide bomber blew himself up. Three policemen were killed in the blast, which was the eighth place.

Although no group has accepted the responsibility of the blasts, the police have arrested 24 people. In the past, the most deadly attacks in the island nation were made by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, which used to run military operations for a separate Tamil homeland in northern and eastern provinces. The group was active for nearly three decades after its fall in 2009 when the Lanka army killed its top leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.
